ABQ Dance Connect is a resource for dancers that provides networking and advocacy for Albuquerque’s dance community.

We aim to unite dancers through inclusivity, visibility, and collaboration.

Inclusivity

At ADC, we center inclusivity in everything we do. Through our free Open Class program, we remove financial and affiliation barriers so dancers can train together, share space, and access new perspectives.

We value the diversity of styles, identities, and artistic voices in Albuquerque, and our programming is designed to uplift many approaches to dance and strengthen the connections between us.

Visibility

We’re committed to increasing visibility for dancers, instructors, and organizations across Albuquerque.

Through our weekly newsletter, social media, and event calendar, we highlight local classes, performances, workshops, and opportunities.

Our showcases and classes elevate a wide range of voices and ensure dance artists have a platform to share their work.

Collaboration

We believe that Albuquerque’s dance community thrives when we work, create, and learn together.

Through our dance-related workshops, we bring artists together to experiment, exchange ideas, and support each other’s work. Through our showcases, we provide dance artists an opportunity to perform original works in a public setting, sharing a love of dance with the Albuquerque community.

Open Classes

Open classes provide training and networking opportunities for Albuquerque’s independent dance artists. It is a free class for dance artists in the ABQ dance community. Facilitators vary each class, so it is a chance to try a new technique or explore choreography among peers.

Workshops

Workshops are one way ADC supports creative exchange within the Albuquerque dance community. We’ve previously hosted choreography-focused workshops, and this year we’re thrilled to partner with the Albuquerque Museum on Movement at the Museum—a quarterly series that places dance in conversation with art, space, and community.

Showcases

Our annual Choreographers’ Showcase creates space for dancers and choreographers from across the community to share original work, connect with new audiences, and be seen alongside their peers. The event is free (with a suggested donation) and open to the public. Going on its sixth year, the Choreographers Showcase continues to celebrate the breadth, creativity, and vitality of Albuquerque’s dance community.

Events

ADC’s events calendar serves as a shared hub for the Albuquerque dance community, highlighting both ADC-produced programming and events submitted by local dancers, studios, and organizations. By bringing community-led classes, workshops, performances, and gatherings into one place, the calendar helps increase visibility, reduce silos, and make it easier for dancers to stay connected to what’s happening across the city.

Resources

ADC maintains a growing set of shared resources designed to support dance artists. These resources include a community map of local dance studios, theaters, and venues, along with rehearsal and rental spaces.

We also offer a healthcare directory featuring providers experienced in working with dancers, as well as an email newsletter where members can share upcoming classes, performances, and opportunities. Each Monday, ADC sends a weekly roundup highlighting dance and arts events happening across Albuquerque. Sign up below!
