Community Announcements & Events Guidelines
ABQ Dance Connect exists to support, connect, and promote the Albuquerque dance community as a whole. Our community calendar and announcement spaces are here to share events, classes, and opportunities that bring people together around dance.
To keep this resource useful and respectful, we ask that all posts and event submissions follow the guidelines below.
Please note: ABQ Dance Connect is only promoting the event. Any questions, concerns, or incidents that occur at a specific event should be addressed directly with the event host or venue.
General Guidelines
Posts should be directly related to dance (classes, workshops, performances, auditions, community events, opportunities, etc.).
Events must be geared toward adult dancers (18+). We do not promote events primarily intended for children or minors.
Events should take place in Albuquerque or close surrounding areas (Rio Rancho/Los Ranchos/Corrales).
Please keep posts informational and respectful.
Submissions must include relevant details (date, time, location, cost if applicable, and contact information).
By submitting imagery with your event, you acknowledge that you are authorized to use the image for promotional purposes. You are also allowing ADC the rights to use the image for the purpose of promoting your event in any of our promotional or marketing efforts.
ADC has the right to change imagery and edit any descriptions to meet the needs and content requirements of our calendar.
Ethical Requirements for Event Listings
In order to foster a supportive and inclusive dance community, ABQ Dance Connect reserves the right not to list or promote events or venues that conflict with our ethical standards.
An event or venue may be excluded if:
The event host or venue has made public statements or posts that are discriminatory (including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, or other forms of identity-based discrimination).
The event host or venue has publicly engaged in harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:
Use of slurs or degrading language toward individuals or groups
Bullying, threats, or intimidation (in person or online)
Publicly targeting individuals with sustained negative campaigns meant to cause harm
Calls for violence or explicit encouragement of harm toward others
The event or venue is otherwise clearly inconsistent with our mission of building an inclusive, supportive dance community.
If you feel someone has violated these requirements, please reach out to info@abqdanceconnect.org.
What We Do Not Do
It is also important to clarify what falls outside of our role as a nonprofit:
We are not a fact-finding or investigative body. We do not adjudicate private disputes, hearsay, or conflicting personal accounts.
We will not reject events based on personal opinions or unverified allegations. Our decisions will only be based on public, verifiable statements or actions by an event host or venue.
We will not act as mediators in personal conflicts. We encourage individuals navigating conflict to seek resolution through personal or professional avenues outside of ABQ Dance Connect.
Our Commitment
Our goal is to maintain a community resource that highlights the rich variety of dance opportunities in Albuquerque, while also upholding clear, transparent standards. We are committed to supporting dance in all its forms and fostering a space that is inclusive, respectful, and welcoming to all.
