ABQ Dance Connect Code of Conduct

ABQ Dance Connect (ADC) is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all members of the Albuquerque dance community. This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, instructors, volunteers, and attendees at ADC-hosted events (including open classes, choreography workshops, showcases) as well as participants in ADC’s public social media channels and list-serv.

We expect everyone to follow this Code of Conduct to ensure that ADC events and platforms are respectful and enjoyable for all.

Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with respect and consideration.

  • Refrain from harassment or discriminatory behavior in any form, including but not limited to:

    • Offensive comments or jokes based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, or other personal characteristics

    • Unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention

    • Intimidation, stalking, or sustained targeting of individuals

    • Threats of violence or encouragement of harm toward others

  • Respect personal boundaries and the property of the venue and other participants.

  • Respect the rules and guidelines of the space or event being attended.

  • Communicate in good faith on ADC social media channels; public discussion should remain constructive and focused on dance-related topics.

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation

  • Disruptive behavior that interferes with classes, workshops, showcases, or online discussions

  • Sharing inappropriate or explicit content in ADC spaces

  • Attempts to create conflict, escalate disputes, or target individuals or groups

  • Any violation of venue rules, local laws, or official ADC event policies

Reporting & Enforcement

If you experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct:

  1. Report it immediately to an ADC organizer, instructor, or admin. For social media, you may also report via DM or email  info@abdanceconnect.org.

  2. ADC will review reports promptly and confidentially. While we cannot resolve private disputes or adjudicate personal grievances, we will take action against behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, up to and including:

    • Removal from an event

    • Removal from ADC social media groups or platforms

    • Reporting serious misconduct to appropriate authorities if necessary

ADC is committed to fostering a safe environment and will act to protect participants and the community.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • All ADC-hosted in-person events, including classes, workshops, and showcases

  • All public ADC social media channels, including comments, posts, and other forms of engagement

  • Any situation where a participant’s behavior directly affects the ADC community, whether online or offline
