ADC Open Class: Modern/Contemporary with Vladimir Conde Reche
This class explores the body’s relationship with the floor and space, moving fluidly between grounded and upright sequences. Dancers engage the full body with an awareness of energy distribution to achieve movement fullness and presence in space. Drawing on diverse dance techniques and approaches, the class emphasizes anatomical awareness, functionality, and efficiency as pathways to artistic growth. Through continuous exploration of weight shift, dancers expand their range, dynamics, and texture, cultivating both physical precision and creative expression.
Professor Vladimir Conde Reche, originally from São Paulo, Brazil, is a dancer, choreographer, and educator with a BFA from The Juilliard School and an MFA in Choreography from the University of Iowa. He has performed with Cisne Negro Dance Company, Ballet Stagium, and as a guest artist internationally across South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States. Trained in ballet and modern techniques (Graham, Limón, Taylor) and having studied Gaga with Ohad Naharin and Batsheva dancers, he integrates classical and contemporary approaches in both performance and teaching. As a choreographer, he collaborates across disciplines to create works spanning ballet, contemporary dance, theater, and musicals, often engaging with current issues, while also expanding his artistic voice through photography and digital media.

ADC Open Class: Post-modern with Scot Tupper
Class is full
Rudy was among the founders of the Post Modern dance style coming out of the Judson Church Theater in New York in the 1960s. Scot was a Teaching assistant for Rudy in the early 2000's working at Los Angeles High School for the Arts, USC, and with his Rudy Perez Project company in Los Angeles.
This class is a compilation of the warm up and technique sequences Rudy was constantly evolving focusing on strength, precision, and use of space. Class focuses on the shapes we make with our bodies, as well as the shapes we carve through space, and the relationship we have to that space and with each other as we move. Be prepared for floor work as well as standing movement. Class does include a full warm up and cross-the-floor movement. Style and sensibilities are influenced by Merce Cunningham and Martha Graham, both of whom Rudy studied with directly in his youth, paired with the idea of pedestrian movement as performance.
In addition to his work with Rudy Perez, Scot worked with Los Angeles based companies Keshet Chaim, Collage Dance Theater (now Heidi Duckler Dance), B.E. Productions, Masterpiece Dance Theater, Michael Mizerany Dance, Nancy Evans Dance Theater, among others, and taught all ages for Masterpiece Dance Theater ballet school for 10 years.

UNBOUND: A Performance Ritual
UNBOUND is a performance ritual and community-powered project that works with dance, storytelling, poetry and communal gatherings to uplift the lives, legacies and stories of the artists' Native ancestors who were captured and enslaved during the Spanish colonial period in New Mexico. These ancestors were taken from many different tribes & communities, including Apache, Diné, Kiowa, Ute, Comanche, Pawnee, Hopi and Pueblo. They were given various identifiers: criada, cautiva, coyote, genízaro.
Director Sarah Hogland-Gurulé and collaborating artists Lupita Salazar and Gabriel Carrion-Gonzales are descendants of enslaved indigenous people and have created UNBOUND as a loving offering to their ancestors. They worked intimately with historical research, family stories, platicas with other descendants, generational memory and embodied research to create a visceral and informative experience about a history that is often left out of a contemporary understanding of New Mexico.
There will be a 45 min post-show reception after each performance.
