Keshet Dance Company and Center for the Arts: Movement for Mercy

A contemporary dance performance examining & re-imagining US juvenile justice systems co-created by collaborating artists inside and outside of prison walls. Currently incarcerated dancers and choreographers utilize the Keshet artists on the outside as “movement ambassadors,” bringing their voice and vision to audiences on the outside, locally and nationally. This iteration features work by student collaborators at the John Paul Taylor Center in Las Cruces, one of two remaining post-adjudication facilities in New Mexico, and is created in partnership with the Arts for Healing and Justice Network and Project Knucklehead.
