2025 Action Theater Workshops: Physical Improvisation Fundamentals with mindy grossberg
For all levels of experience, newcomers are especially welcome!
Action Theater™ is a body based improvisational performance technique and practice that integrates movement, vocal sound and speech. Fundamental to the practice is an embodied presence, where the experiencing of the body informs the content of the moment, moment by moment. The exercises enhance our capacity to derive material from our entire body, offering us an opportunity to better notice, experience and respond with a wider palette of creative expression- whether that be on stage or in life.
The Orpheum Theater: located at the Orpheum Community Hub, 500 2nd St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Entry into the parking lot is on 2nd Street, just south of Coal and on 1st Street, just north of Iron. Park in the east parking lot, as close to 1st Street as possible.
Plan to wear comfortable clothes for movement/floor work. We work without shoes, if that is not an option, bring shoes suitable for the dance floor. If you have any physical restrictions, we will work with them. Just let me know so I can support you.
$40-$55: Sliding Fee Scale (no one is turned away for lack of funds!)
